New Building

Update - April 2021

We have now been granted planning permission to build our new church building. Demolition of the old site will hopefully begin shortly.

Our rough time-line regarding the build looks like this…

Demolition of existing building – Early May 2021

Building completion – Spring 2022
Below are some photos of how the building will look from the outside. If you have any questions/queries, please direct them to Darrel Irwin (Chair of the Building Committee) through this website or on email:
The existing church building on Old Hall Road is used for many weekly activities that serve the needs of the people of Leftwich, such as clubs for primary and secondary age children, a senior citizens group and a parent and toddler club.  In recent months a new Oasis memory café has provided a much-needed service for people in our community affected by dementia and their carers.  A food bank is also hosted in the church.  However, the usefulness of the building is limited by its age and layout, and a more modern and practical design would allow the church to better serve the people of Leftwich and surrounding areas.

The number of people attending services on a Sunday has continued to grow and the existing building is unable to accommodate the congregation.   For the last two years the church has met in the main hall of Leftwich Primary School.  Whilst the church is grateful for the kindness of the school for giving it access to its facilities, meeting there is not a long-term solution to our needs.

Original plans were submitted to build on a small portion of Leftwich Green. Planning permission was granted in May 2017.   The church has been waiting for a decision to be made by Cheshire West and Chester Council on the asset transfer and currently still have no answer.  As a result of this delay, the church has decided to put forward plans to redevelop its current site.

The proposed new building will still be able to properly accommodate all current church activities and Sunday services.  It will also offer modern kitchen facilities, increased meeting space and a flexible layout that will facilitate use by the church and other organisations, serving the local community.

It is anticipated that the demolition of the existing building and subsequent new build would commence in the Spring of 2021.  After the construction work begins the church would like to continue to offer our existing services to the community and are searching for suitable venues to cover the period when it will be without a building.
